Big news and next weekend’s races

March 6, 2022 Posted by Paul

Team Telemark won the Cross Country BC Club Championships Trophy for the first time in its 43 year history!

Congratulations to our amazing athletes, coaches, volunteers, and parents for achieving this incredible milestone! All of your hard work over the past two years has paid off in spades. Skiers, we could not be more proud of you.

We have two races next weekend

If you are planning to go to Nationals, we recommend doing only the Okanagan Cup at Nickel Plate on Sunday to get some last-minute altitude intensity. All other athletes are encouraged to do both our own Apple Loppet and the Okanagan Cup on Sunday. Both will be supported, though perhaps a bit more lightly than we would at a BC Cup.

Okanagan Cup, Nickel Plate Nordic on Sunday

Registration closes on Tuesday night at 11 pm, so sign up soon!

Race notice: https://crosscountrybc.ca/race-notice-teck-okanagan-cup-2

Format is mass start free, with waves starting at 1100

Apple Loppet, Telemark Nordic, Saturday

This event is being run similarly to last year, with start-when-you-want chip timing. There will be five distances to choose from, 1.5km – 3km – 7.5km – 15km – 30km. It is sort of a choose your own adventure format, where you can rock skiathlon mode as per tradition, or do as you will. Registration is cheap, and includes lunch!

Revelstoke last details

December 31, 2021 Posted by Paul

Hello Ski Fans,

It’s time for final preparation for the Okanagan Cup/BCWG trials!

SATURDAY

Pre-ski of courses is at 3pm. I’d advise leaving early, there is considerable snow in the forecast.

SUNDAY

Race Skis; cleaned, waxed with Swix CH5 or Toko red/blue mix, grip zones sanded and base binder applied – to the tent by 9:30am. Pick up your bib at the same time.

Warm-up skis: Likely Super Blue is a good warm up wax

L2T warm up ski with Lisa Wambold and Magnus Aaserud 10:15

T2T warm up ski with Jamie Sprules and Murray Farbridge 10:30

The start list will be posted tomorrow morning at the latest.

Full details are on the earlier post found here: https://race.teamtelemark.ca/revelstoke-bcwg-trials-okanagan-cup-plan/

We still need volunteers to help set up tomorrow, and to help with the waxing Sunday morning!
