Hello ski fans! Tomorrow is our annual poker run event. Unlike in past years, we’ll be running it at Telemark, starting at the lodge.
What you need: Running shoes, running clothes, your map brains, and your awesome strength technique!
What I need: Parents to go with the groups, with fully charged cell phones, to make sure they don’t get too lost. Please don’t help the kids with navigation unless they are heading off to lands unknown!
Coaches will be at each of the stations to lead that station’s strength activity
How it works: Each group will be given a map with the five stations marked on it. Athletes will stay in their groups at all times, and do each station together. You get one poker card for arriving together at each station, another poker card for successfully (and with good technique!) completing each strength activity. Each group can choose their best five cards to make the highest scoring hand, and the best poker hand gets the prize! Note that you can get up to 10 cards, so be strategic. All groups have to be back by noon.
See you up there! It’ll be great to see Telemark in all of its glory again!
Big news and next weekend’s races
Team Telemark won the Cross Country BC Club Championships Trophy for the first time in its 43 year history!
Congratulations to our amazing athletes, coaches, volunteers, and parents for achieving this incredible milestone! All of your hard work over the past two years has paid off in spades. Skiers, we could not be more proud of you.
We have two races next weekend
If you are planning to go to Nationals, we recommend doing only the Okanagan Cup at Nickel Plate on Sunday to get some last-minute altitude intensity. All other athletes are encouraged to do both our own Apple Loppet and the Okanagan Cup on Sunday. Both will be supported, though perhaps a bit more lightly than we would at a BC Cup.
Okanagan Cup, Nickel Plate Nordic on Sunday
Registration closes on Tuesday night at 11 pm, so sign up soon!

It is sort of a choose your own adventure format, where you can rock skiathlon mode as per tradition, or do as you will. Registration is cheap, and includes lunch!
