Hi all
To date, there are 7 Telemark families signed up to plant trees this weekend. It is not too late to sign up. You will be giving back to the planet and you will get some good cross-training in with friends. Info. below.
There is an important fundraiser for our Race Team.
Last year, we earned $3000. More numbers of volunteers means more revenue to support our growing team. Coach Adam also advises that Tree Planting is a great cross-training activity for Nordic Skiers. It is also a way for our kids to give back to the planet!

Dates: May 23 and 24th.
Shifts: You can sign up all day or half-days.
Location: http://www.ymcaokanagan.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/map+drivingDirections1.pdf
– Above Peachland. We will marshal at 10km which is the start of Silver Lake Rd, at 830am
Training: Sean Siever is a World-Class Tree Planter. He will be providing us with some tips of the trade.
– We earn $.25/tree.
Equipment: Heartland will provide the planting bags, shovels and trees. There will be instructions at the start for all new planters and will be a good refresher for those that planted before.
What to Bring? The ground is decent, but planters should still wear long pants and proper boots. Bring a lunch and water.
Please fill in the sign-up sheet as soon as you can – we ask that you sign up for a whole day, or morning, or afternoon. That way we know how many bags and trees to bring. then drive up into the planting site. Better directions will be posted if needed, closer to the date.
If you have any questions you can email Richard MacKenzie.

Hi Brent,
We signed up for Saturday afternoon, but with soccer it is cutting it too close. Can we switch to Sunday morning please?
Thanks,
Tim
