TR1 Tomorrow night and Klister

March 10, 2014 Posted by Paul

Hi everybody,

Looks like tomorrow night’s TR1 practice is going to be great klister skiing conditions AND DAYLIGHT!  Much as klister is a bit of a hassle to put on and take off, it makes for really fun skiing.  We will be doing some video technique work and then going for a ski.

Make sure to get up there nice and early to prep skis.  You’ll want to bring klister, and if you own one, a heat gun.  Here’s a great video on klister application –

I don’t personally use the base of my palm for smoothing, but he makes it look pretty cool.

OK, this trick for cleaning klister has to be tried.  Traditionally the first step is just scraping with a putty knife.  His trick is cooler, though I can’t believe he used a $400 iron to do that job…  I think a heat gun and the palm of your hand might work better.

Looking forward to our first daylight evening ski!
