Here are the Current Standings for the Tour de Telemark. Some results are not perfect because I didn’t have enough Pace Per Kilometer data; not enough races raced. Any Time you beat your Pace Per Kilometer average you improve your points. The opposite is also true and if you miss a race you loss 20 points. Currently the points race is led by Abbey Ertel, Grayson McKinnon, Dana Allen and Gareth Williams. More info Below:
Tour de Telemark
This is a point’s competition which should reward skiers who have improved during the season. The formula is simple. This season you have raced many times. I took your best Distance races and averaged them out to create an Average pace per kilometer. I was sure to compare apples with apples as some courses definitely were shorter than they should have been. Now that you have your pace per kilometer sorted out you can score points. If you ski faster than your average pace per kilometer you score a point for every second you are faster. If you ski slower you lose a point for every second you are slower. Ski consistently and you will do well. If you miss an event you may loose points but continue to be able to compete. The sprint events will award points biased on finish order. The better your points the better your start position up the final climb Tuesday!
The 3 Sprints and the Lit TT have already happened. Remaining is the Summer Road Hill climb and slalom race Saturday, the Apple Loppet Sunday and the Crystal Climb Pursuit Start Finally Tuesday. This is Great!
