Midgets Registration

February 2, 2014 Posted by Paul

The deadline for Midgets registration is rapidly approaching!  You have to register before Feb 4, 2014 23:59 PST at Zone4 .  This is a must make event for any kid born in 2001-2004, and the most fun race of the year, so don’t miss it!

On a somewhat unrelated note, it was great to see so many kids and parents racing at Nickel Plate today!  Lots of great results from everybody!

    Hi
Just wondering who registers the relays. D all the kids get to be on a relay or is there just one group per team? How will the kids find out? I may get questions from athletes or parents tomorrow practice and I don’t know how these things work.

      Hi Deepa,

Sent this as a text to you last night, but in case somebody else asks –

      1. All kids will be on relay teams
      2. There are two types of relay teams, official and unofficial. Official teams are gender homogenous and from the same club. Unofficial teams are of mixed gender and/or mixed club.
      3. Adam, as head coach, organizes all of the teams and registers them.
      4. Registration for the race closes today, so we’ll have final registrations for Adam to work with then. He’ll let the athletes and parents know shortly after he gets the teams registered.
      5. Costumes are strongly encouraged, but if they are hot/elaborate/bulky enough to affect performance, Adam reserves the right to indicate strongly that the plan should be modified! Past themes have included the Klister Sisters, Bros with Tight Clothes (neon tights). The mighty tighty whiteys (white briefs worn as hats) (yes, they made the news the next day), The Onesie Girls, which is the reason for the costume rule currently in place, those PJs were a bit on the warm and bulky side!
