Crystal Rim Hill Climb TT

January 27, 2021 Posted by Coach Adam

Hello Ski Fans,

I crunched the numbers and so far this year we have seen significant improvements in the performance of our skiers. If you are interested in how Canada Points List is calculated check Nordiq Canada’s Website Here! “Race points are based off of a skier’s time behind the race winners time, taking into consideration the depth and quality of field.”

Lets Keep up the Great Work Everyone!

These show all of the early season races ending with the last Candy Cane Cup. The points are the percentage off the fastest skiers. From this I calculated the average for this time period. It is simplified by only using the average and only using male reference points. I did not create a separate female points list.

These show the points calculation for the race simulations we had since the Candy Cane Cup Series ended. Bonus points are given for improvements over the period 1 points average. There are some pretty significant improvements on these lists. Great Job Everyone! Using the Points list I calculated the theoretical time it will take for each skier to ski the Crystal Rim Hill Climb; no it is not going to be perfect but we do have many years of data on this event. Full length Crystal Rim Climb for T2T and Older ~3.5 km. To High-country junction for Track Attack ~1.5 km. The start times are for a reverse pursuit (In theory everyone should finish at the same time) except that the Time Bonuses are then subtracted from the start times. This favors skiers who have improved the most this month.

The Hunter Start (Reverse pursuit) should make things interesting. We expect good sportsmanship, allowing skiers to pass etc. This event is always exciting!
