Learn to Ski Faster!

“For Telemark to earn many medals on the national stage this year. The best part is that these
medals were earned by Seven different Telemark skiers,” said Adam Elliot, Team Telemark Head
Coach. “We earned 7th place in the club championship with only 9 skiers! The team’s results from Nationals are the culmination of years of hard work, devoted volunteer
coaches and a cohesive team spirit that paid off at the National Championship.”

The Mission of the Telemark Competitive Program is to deliver a good experience for the members while providing a supportive encouraging and progressively structured training environment so that they may achieve their goals of sports excellence

Telemark Strategic Plan Available Here!

This Should be a fun Weekend! Feel free to contact me by email with questions or concerns. Thank You,
Adam Elliot

E. C. Manning Camp

March 20, 2023 Posted by Coach Adam

Our annual summer training camp at E.C. Manning Park will be held July 21 – 24, which means that campsites need to be booked this Tuesday, March 21!

Attached is a rough summary of the camp schedule. Note:

  • This camp is for Track Attack, T2T and L2C athletes wishing to build fitness and have fun!
  • Each day we will hike &/or run in the mountains
  • Parents are expected to take part in activities – this is not a drop-off camp!
  • The recommended campsites are at Lightning Lake, Large Loop

Next steps:

  1. This weekend, make sure you have a BC Parks account/profile
  2. On Tuesday, March 21, log in at 7 am to book your campsite on Lightening Lake, Large Loop.

Key Details ? When: July 21 to 24, 2023 ? Where: E. C. Manning Provincial Park. We will be booking sites at Lightning Lake, Large Loop. ? Why: endurance training, fun, and adventure! ? Who: any Track Attack, T2T and L2C athletes, with parents/chaperones. Note: this is part training, part family camping, and all fun! Please do not drop off kids for the day unless they are older and will be doing the long runs that would break all but the fittest coach/parent. Parents of TA & T2T athletes are also expected to camp with their kids.

Friday, July 21st, 2023 ? 7:15 am: depart downtown Kelowna no later than this time to travel to E.C. Manning Park. ? 10:30 am: Meet at the Manning Park Resort store 7500 BC-3, Manning Park, BC V0X 1R0. Please be on time as we are not aware of cellular service in the park. ? 11:00 am: Start up the trail ? Pack trail food, a lunch and 2 litres of water ? 4:00 pm: latest return to campsite ? 7:00 pm: team meeting.

Notes ? We will be hiking up & down mountains to high elevations. Older athletes may run back down. All training will be done in a long and slow pace at elevation! ? We will have a Team Meeting at 7 pm every night to get organized for the following morning. The location of these meetings – likely at the trip leader’s campsite – will be shared prior to the trip. ? If you are going to join us only for a day trip, please arrive by 8 am as we depart the campsite by 8:30 am for the Run/Hike each day other than the first day. ? Feel free to cook in groups! Make sure these are on your packing list: ? TRAIL running shoes (road running shoes do not offer enough traction or protection on the trails) ? Camp chair ? 2 litre capacity Camelback/running vest, etc. A Swix/KV+ fanny belt is not enough water. ? Rain jacket (we will be over 2000m most days so we can see a wide variety of weather) ? Sun protection ? Swimsuit ? Towel ? Blister kit ? Sunglasses ? Lots of trail snacks ? Headlamp ? Cards, travel chess, and other games for relaxing in the evening Some of the cool run/hikes we normally do: ? Skyline Loop ? Mount Frosty Loop ? Heather Trail to 3 Brothers out and Back ? Bonviera Run ? Snass Mountain

If you ou have any questions, please let us know. Thanks, Adam Elliot
