Spring Break Skiing

March 17, 2014 Posted by Coach Adam

Hello Ski Fans,

I adjusted the schedule recently to take advantage of the spring break skiing opportunities. There is still excellent skiing at Telemark.

March 18th TR1 and 2 Skate at 10am Tuesday

March 19th JD 6pm Skate Wednesday

March 20th JD and TR1 1pm Classic; should be harries so bring clean skis. Skiing with harries is a good thing to practice since sometimes you need to race on them… like Kurt, David and Gareth in Newfoundland.

March 2oth TR2 4pm CL if simple so be prepared to SK if needed

March  23rd TR2, Tr1 and JD Skate 10am This is a Sunday!

March 25th TR1 and 2 Skate at 10am Tuesday

See You Soon,

Adam

TR1 Tomorrow night and Klister

March 10, 2014 Posted by Paul

Hi everybody,

Looks like tomorrow night’s TR1 practice is going to be great klister skiing conditions AND DAYLIGHT!  Much as klister is a bit of a hassle to put on and take off, it makes for really fun skiing.  We will be doing some video technique work and then going for a ski.

Make sure to get up there nice and early to prep skis.  You’ll want to bring klister, and if you own one, a heat gun.  Here’s a great video on klister application –

I don’t personally use the base of my palm for smoothing, but he makes it look pretty cool.

OK, this trick for cleaning klister has to be tried.  Traditionally the first step is just scraping with a putty knife.  His trick is cooler, though I can’t believe he used a $400 iron to do that job…  I think a heat gun and the palm of your hand might work better.

Looking forward to our first daylight evening ski!
