Spring Skiing Fun

March 23, 2014 Posted by Ross

Today coach Adam lead a small but determined group spring skiing. We skied up to Crystal Rim, then backcountry skied up to a ridge (just below 1400m), then crust skied down. Great fun. Best quote of the day “my face hurts from smiling so much”.  The kids were determined to get to the top of the ridge, no one wanted to stop, despite being asked numerous times.  Got to love that attitude!

Spring is great time to continue to ski while the emphasis is on fun and exploring new places we usually can’t access. This type of skiing is great for continuing to improve fitness as well as balance.  All the coaches were amazed to see the fitness of the athletes from when we started this year.  Huge progress.  It would be nice to see lots of kids still out, if not please attend the Telemark Race Team windup on Saturday April 12th.  The windup looks like it will take place at the club, 5:30pm, details to follow.
