Coaching Courses

October 6, 2015 Posted by Coach Adam

Hello Ski Fans,

We need coaches. If you are interested in coaching and have any question please contact me. To take the coaching courses you need to be 14 years old. Coaching is a hugely rewarding Privilege, I love it.

The Dryland course for L2T is fast approaching. It runs on Oct 23-25th the Friday is a few hours in the evening. To take this course you need to have taken the ICC and CC previously. The course is really good. It is not often that we get to host one of these courses at Telemark so it is a good opportunity to take this course. If we do not get enough participants registered we will need  to cancel the course. So please get a hold of Deren to secure a spot ASAP. The club pays for all NCCP Coaching Development.

Learn to Train (L2T) is for coaching athletes 8-12 years old. Other Details about the L2T Dryland off CCBC Website: “The NCCP L2T (Dryland) Workshop is the third step in the NCCP progression.  Coaches are taught about developmental age, physical literacy, team building, athletic components (aerobic fitness, speed, etc.), nutrition, how to design their own sport program, adventure-based activities (year-round), roller-skiing and planning a practice.”

Link to CCBC for more Information: http://crosscountrybc.ca/coach-development-workshops

There are other courses being offered at Telemark; the courses are ICC, CC, L2T Dry-land and L2T On-Snow. Each courses except the ICC has a prerequisite of the previous course in the order this Order: ICC, CC, L2T Dry-land and L2T On-Snow. Most run Friday evening start times.

The Dates for the courses are on the calendar also.

L2T Dry-land October 23-25th

ICC Introductory Community Coach Workshop November 6-7th

CC Community Coach Workshop December 4-6th

L2T On-Snow (Learn to Train On-Snow) December 11-13th

Please contact Deren ASAP to sign up. Deren Sentesy (derens@gmail.com)

Thank You,

Adam Elliot
