Homemade Protein Bar Recipe

June 10, 2016 Posted by Ross

For those that requested it (including Tristan Lee), here is the recipe I use for protein bars:

1-1/4 cup peanut butter

1 cup honey

3 cups dry, uncooked old fashioned oats

2 cups protein powder (Lean Fit, chocolate flavour from Costco is what I use)

1 cup chocolate chips (optional, but certainly contributes to the flavour)

  1. Combine peanut butter and honey in a pot and warm up on low heat until runny and mixed. Remove from heat.
  2. Mix in the oatmeal and protein powder.
  3. Add chocolate chips.  They will melt, this is okay.
  4. Press into a 9X9 inch baking pan.  I line mine with foil so I can pop the whole thing out for easier cutting.
  5. Let cool.
  6. Cut into bars (I do 16) and wrap in plastic wrap. Store in fridge or cupboard.

Nutritional Information:

For 16 bars: 15.3 g of protein/bar

For 20 bars: 12.25 g of protein/bar

For 25 bars: 9.8 g of protein/bar

They are less expensive, taste better than store bought and are very quick and easy to make.

Roller Skis Ready for Pickup

June 8, 2016 Posted by Coach Adam

Hello Ski Fans,

Thank You Kelowna Cycle; One of Our biggest Sponsors has helped us out again!

All of the roller skis which were ordered in the spring are mounted with bindings and ready to be picked up at the 103-2949 Pandosy St Kelowna Cycle Location. Please pick them up as soon as possible. We need to get these suckers paid for. Just to clarify the SK $230 and CL $345 price does not include the bindings; they are extra (Binding Tags are in the Box). Mounting was done for free by Me. If you cannot recall if you ordered skis there is a list at the bottom of the page.

If you missed the order there is an extra pair of New Swenor 65 Skate Roller Skis and some Oneway Classic Roller Skis available at the same location. Click to read about the March Deal?

2016 Roller Skis

Roller skiing simulates skiing without snow. It requires roller skis, a cycling helmet, reflective vest, gloves, ski boots and ski poles with carbide tips. Do I need special tips?

“Great quality long lasting carbide tips saving you money. Replace your snowbaskets with these so you don’t have to replace your snow baskets which are more expensive. All Snow Baskets are not as durable as proper Roller Ski Tips but if your snow baskets tips are not Carbide they will wear out almost immediately and slip.” [RollerSkiShop]

Kelowna Cycle stocks these tips; there are two different colours of baskets. The red ones fit most of the poles on the market including Swix and Yoko 10mm. The bright green baskets are a little smaller and fit the Oneway Poles etc. 9mm. You can measure your poles for perfect fit.
