Bottle Drive raised $3611 and counting! WTG Team Telemark!

October 18, 2021 Posted by Jamie Sprules

Thank you parents, athletes and coaches for making our second annual bottle drive a success. As with all fundraisers many hands make light work, we had lots of help on sorting day. The more bottles we have the larger the total at 10 cents per can/bottle. Were your kids begging you to take them to collect bottles from friends & neighbours, ha mine neither, was it tricky to fit it in around everything else on your schedule, yup us too…pat yourselves on the back busy parents for making it happen and showing up with carloads some of you made multiple trips.

One family that couldn’t make it on sorting day let us know that they returned the bottles they collected and have $82 to deposit in the account, that is commitment! Another parent was driving around collecting the day after the big sort from a couple folks who missed the pick up deadline. Thank you everyone for doing your part!

Please note: Bottles can be dropped year round at any Return It, location in BC (tell the in-laws) the general TM phone number is the Return It account number 250-707-5925

Why do we fundraise? Team registration fees cover approx 50% of expenses (coaching is our main expense, we are fortunate to have 3 paid coaches) Fundraising budget for this year is $40,000. We could all just pay more and not fundraise but do you really want to pay 50% more in fees? And how awesome is it to have the kids out there working to offset team costs?…it’s super awesome.

Do you have any fundraising ideas you can run with or help with? contacts for potential team sponsors? get in touch anytime to discuss sonyabridge@gmail.com

Up next raffle prizes, our annual raffle is the largest fundraiser we have. Deadline for prizes Nov 20th. Can you help add to our prize list? Need a donation letter? reach out to Sonya. Alcohol can not be a prize but gift cards for wineries are accepted. We can match small prizes with larger items. Many Thanks.
