Teck SLNC Regional Camp

November 26, 2021 Posted by Coach Adam

Hello Ski Fans,

I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning for our Regional Ski Camp.

All of the camp information is available in the Camp Notice Here! This Includes the Schedule.

Information on the Sovereign Lake Facility Safety Protocols are available Here. There is still no day lodge access at Sovereign. During the lunch break Saturday you are to reunite with your families. Also, each day skiers must complete the online self-assessment tool, before arriving at Sovereign Lakes.

Group Meeting Area: North of the old Day Lodge in the Stadium. This is where we will handout the day passes.

Camp Goals: Safe Fun, Technique, Inspiration and Camaraderie

We will start the day with some technique stations. 10 Minutes per station Plus Transition time

  • 1 Balance Station Coach Clair Littlefair
  • 2 Offset Sation 1 (No Poles) Coach Paul Shipley
  • 3 Offset Station 2 Coach Alex McDonald
  • 4 The Turning Station Coach Marta Green
  • 5 One Skate Station 1 (No Poles) Coach Adam Elliot
  • 6 One Skate Station 2 Coach Magnus Aarserud
  • We will rotate through the stations in Numerical Order
  • 8-9 Year olds start at Station 1. 10 year olds Station 2. 11 year olds station 4. 12 year olds Station 5. 13-14 year olds Station 6. 15 Plus year olds start at Station 3.

Saturday November 27th

9:00 am Sovereign Lake Nordic Club

9:30 am Skate Ski Groups Depart

Noon Your Packed Lunch Time

12:30 pm Classic Ski Session

2:00 pm Athlete Pickup Time

Sunday November 28th

9:00 am Sovereign Lake Nordic Club

9:30 am Groups Depart with Classic Skis Waxed

10:30 am Kings Court Sprint Race Classic

12:30 pm athlete pickup time from Sovereign Lake Nordic Club

Sunday morning will start with some more technique development and skiing before the Sprint event. I took the excellent Map provided for the Western Canada Cup Sprint Course and Shortened it up for our camp Kings Court Sprint event on Sunday. 12 Plus will use the longer “Start B” And 11 and Younger will head directly into the whale tail “Start A”. This should be fun. There are a few less people participating Sunday but the Kings Court format will deliver a fun event.

Unfortunately, we will not be receiving the Teck CCBC Camp Hats in time for the camp.

This should be a great weekend! Feel free to contact me by email with questions or concerns. Thank You,
Adam Elliot
