2023 International Children’s Games Information Meeting

May 12, 2022 Posted by Chris Halldorson

Hello Biathlon and Nordic families,

I’d like to invite those who are interested to attend an information meeting on the 2023 International Children’s Games. The meeting will be hosted by Lorraine Friesen, who sits on Team Kelowna’s organizing committee.

The international children’s games is a cultural sporting event where children from various countries come to compete against each other. Children represent their home city and Kelowna has been participating in the games since they were hosted at Telemark in 2011. The games were last held in 2019 and you can read about the experience from the Telemark skiers who participated in them here.

This year the games will be hosted in South Korea and the nordic events will be held at the site of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. This event is open to participants born in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and who live or attend school in Kelowna/West Kelowna.  Kelowna is able to send 2 males and 2 females in both cross country skiing and biathlon (4 males and 4 females total)
