West Kelowna Park Influence

September 7, 2015 Posted by Coach Adam

Hello Ski Fans,

We need your Help! I will admit that I no longer skate board and was never very good at it but I do use skate parks for cycling and occasionally Roller Skiing. I also take my kids to use the skate parks to develop skills cycling too. I really like the idea of calling these “All Wheel Parks” personally. Anyways, we need your help ensuring that the park that is built in West Kelowna can be utilized by as many people as possible for the next 20 years.

I have heard that there is a movement from a group that would like to see a park with only street skating features, completely ignoring the main features of nearly all other skateparks in the world, namely banks, bowls and snake runs.  They are trying to get as many street skaters as possible to fill in the skatepark survey to try to force the park to be 100% street style.   Please, take 5 minutes to complete the survey at the link below and include “Deep Vert Bowl, Flow Bowl, snake run, pool style bowl,  and banks” as your top 5 choices for design features.  This will provide the balance of opinion necessary to ensure the skate park is not completely dominated by one style of the sport and includes a bowl style feature as part of the total design to accommodate all styles of park skateboarding.  Your voice matters as very few people take the time to complete community surveys.  We really appreciate your help in this matter.

Thanks in advance for your time and attention, the effects of your 5 minutes will be felt and appreciated in our community for over 2 decades. Tell Your Friends Too!
