It may be in the 30s and still smoky, but it is time to start dryland training and planning for the season! A handful of info items to get us all started:
Roller Ski Tri
Next Tuesday at 5:30 at the Gellatly Nut Farm is our fun and hilarity filled Roller Ski Triathlon! Swim, run, rollerski. There is a non-rollerski option. Plenty of fun for all ages of athletes! Bring a swimsuit, running shoes, and roller ski gear.
Regional camps
This year we have two dryland and two on-snow camps in the interior!
Camp 1: September 15-17 Dryland in Revelstoke. All ages. The camp will be run at the fabulous Blanket Creek Campground. Registration is already open! https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=15931&lan=1&cartlevel=1
Camp 2: October 13-14 Dryland in Kelowna. All ages. This camp will be run at Camp Dunlop like last year. Great fun was had by all! Our club is hosting this one, so we’ll need lots of help!
Camp 3: November 17-19 On-Snow Silver Star. Year of birth 2004 and older. We are hosting this one as well.
Camp 4: November 24-26 On-Snow Silver Star. Years of birth 2005-2009. Hosted by our friends at Revelstoke Nordic.
Regular training
Starts next week after the Roller Ski Tri. Our calendar will be populated shortly with times and locations for each group.
BC Winter Games
I know, this is a long ways off, but if you were born in 2003 or 2004 you are eligible for this year’s BC Winter Games in Kamloops. This is a great experience for young athletes! The trials are the last Saturday in December in Salmon Arm so if this is a major goal of your season it’s time to start planning!
