Hello Ski Fans!
It is officially that time of year again, where the sun abandons us during our Tuesday and Thursday evening practices. It’s time for our annual reminder of what to bring on those lovely fall nights.
Trail running/ski striding nights:
One of the most common injuries that our athletes (well, and coaches too!) get in the fall is taking a tumble because we can’t see the trail well. Be sure to bring a functioning headlamp! It should have enough battery for an hour and a half of running, and be bright enough that you can easily see the trail in front of you. In addition, a bright shirt can sure help coaches see where you are.
Roller ski nights:
While we will be moving to closed roads and rail trails on weekday evenings for the T2T/L2T groups, you still need to have a steady white shining forward and blinking red shining backward, as well as a good visi-vest.
All nights:
It is fall, and the weather can be unpredictable. Bring an extra layer so that as the temperature drops or rain showers fall you can stay nice and comfortable. A camera for the occasional gorgeous sunset is a nice touch too.
