Free Dog Enduro Sunday May 1st 1 pm Start. Updated!

April 26, 2016 Posted by Coach Adam

Hello Ski Fans,

New Timeline:

12:30-12:50 Sign on

12:50 Event Comments and Rules

1:00 Start

3:45 Cut off for starting an additional Lap

4:15 Complete

After consulting with the majority of the TR2s who skied Silver Star Sunday we have decided to move our event back to Sunday with a 1 pm Start time in order to maximize attendance. This is not a Race, it is a Challenge! Some of you may be familiar with the Salty Dog which is a Mountain Bike Enduro which I was involved in starting 15 years ago. This could be used as preparation for that event. We can Meet at Eian Lamont Park for the start before 1 pm. The address is: Lakeview Cove Rd, West Kelowna, BC V1Z 3P6.

Thursday, April 28, there is a Pre-Ride of the courses at 5:30 pm on the calendar.

The idea is that you see how many laps you can do in 3 hours Running and/or Cycling. JDs and TR1s could do relay team if desired. You may start an additional Short Lap before the 2:45 hours is up as long as you can complete it in 30 minutes. Laps completed after 3.25 Hours will not count. All people are welcome to participate.

There are 2 different laps. The Long Lap will count be worth two short laps in the lap count.

A Short Loop (Lap 1) for Odd number laps which is about 3 km.

3 km Mt. B Enduro Loop

The Long Loop (Lap2) is 6 km and Summits Mount Boucherie via the new trail on the West Side of the Mountain is for Even Number Laps.

6 km Mt. B Enduro Loop

The first part of both laps is the same. There is a junction which participants will need to choose which direction (lap) they are doing. The laps will be marked with Flagging Tape; Keep your eyes open! The Pre-ride of the course scheduled for Thursday at 5:30 is recommended.

Poker Hands will be drawn at the end of each lap.

Self Supported Event. Food and drink is up to you. Recommended Items to have in the Lap and Pit include: Cooler, Food, Drinks, Spare Bike Stuff (Tubes, Oil, etc.), Sunscreen, Rain Jacket? and a Lawn Chair. The Lap area will be near the large Silver Reservoir visible in the pictures which is about 200 meters from the parking lot.

Volunteers would definitely help run this event. We need to keep track of laps people, deal cards, cheer and keep things Fun. If you are available to Help Please Email me: coachadam@teamtelemark.ca

This is Going to be Fun!
