We are trying to improve our waxing and race day organization.   We need all our skiers to do the following:

  • Make sure your classic skis have clearly marked wax pockets for hard wax and klister.  This should be done with a black or silver (for skis with black sidewalls) Sharpie .  Both of our ski store sponsors can help with this.  If you are unclear please ask one your coaches for assistance.  Please erase any old markings with wax remover and a cloth or fibertex.
  • We are going to color code skis by age group to allow for easier race day waxing.  You can ask Deepa, Paul or Ross for stickers (though Paul might not be the best to ask, he might need help with his colours).  The sticker should be placed in front of the binding.  Both skate and classic skis should have stickers.
  • Green – PeeWee
  • Yellow – Midget
  • Blue – Bantam

This is a friendly reminder to take advantage of 2 fundraising initiatives in support of our Race Team.

1)  Canadian Olympic Foundation initiative expires on Dec 15th.

Your donation will be topped up by 25% by a generous XC ski philanthropist

You will receive a Tax Receipt

2)  Junior Race Team/Biathlon Raffle

Every member of the Race Team is expected to sell one booklet/athlete to a maximum of 2 booklets/family

Raffle books are to be bought in advance. The cost is $125/book to a max of $250/family (2 books).

Please disregard my earlier email instruction from Dec 4th. We will not pre-pay for the tickets through the Canadian Olympic Foundation (rationale: donation is not tax deductible because members will be selling raffle tickets after the fact).

Please make cheques payable to Telemark Junior Racers and hand in to Sean Siever (Raffle coordinator) at your earliest convenience. Sean will distribute and track the sale of your tickets.

Sean will be coordinating team raffle sales at Fresh Air Experience later this month. More to follow.
