Race Team Wax Service and BBQ – Saturday Feb 29th

February 26, 2020 Posted by Alison

This Saturday we will be hosting our last fund-raising BBQ on the deck after practice. Spread the word!

Also, several coaches and our older athletes will be offering a wax service to members of the club. Again, spread the word and email your fellow skiers to take advantage of our services all the while raising funds toward our race team via the Nordiq Canada “100 Campaign”. 12 noon to 1:30 pm

View the link for our fundraiser here: https://www.canadahelps.org/me/cAk9sZj

Please take the initiative to ask any potential friends or family for their support. You never know who will come out of the woodwork until you ask; many folks deeply value what our clubs and volunteers are doing for them, their family, and their community.

See you Saturday!

Fun Ski at Kelowna Nordic – Sunday March 1

February 26, 2020 Posted by Coach Adam

Hi everyone. If you’re interested in another fun ski on Sunday (March 1) there is the “Cabins & Cookies Tour” at Kelowna Nordic. The event runs from 10 am to 2 pm and begins at the Kelowna Nordic Main Cabin.

There will be prizes, chilli, hot dogs, and COOKIES!

There are three distance options:

·         6 km one cabin ski loop to Log cabin,

·         12 km two cabin ski loop to Log and Meadow Cabins, or

·         16 km three cabin loop to Log, Meadow and Back Country Cabins.

There will be volunteers following each group, on this self-guided event. There will be colourful signs at intersections pointing you in the right direction based on your chosen route. Each cabin will be stocked with cookies for you to enjoy along your journey. Back at the Main Cabin, there will be pots of chilli, and drinks awaiting your return and a bonfire to roast marshmallows.

***Bring your bowls and spoons for the chilli***

All of this fun and food will be provided for a $5.00 donation.

Now, about those lovely prizes from Fresh Air, Kelowna Cycle and Anthony’s Subaru, how do you get those? You need to register that you’re going to attend. This will let us know you’re coming so we know how much food to prepare and to enter you in the prize draw.

Register today for the festivities with Wendy Vandenberg at:
