Race Simulation Results

Hello Ski Fans,

What a great opportunity it has been for the Telemark Skiers to race with BC’s finest skiers! There are many great results over the past two days of race simulations. There have been some significant improvements as well in the last month. We will have more opportunities before the skiers depart Tuesday. Thanks to all of the parents and coaches who contributed to these wonderful events! We are well on our way to meeting our mission goals!

The Mission of the Telemark Race Program is to deliver a good experience for the members while providing a supportive encouraging and progressively structured training environment so that they may achieve their goals of sports excellence

Crystal Rim Hill Climb Race; Skate Saturday January 30th 2021

  • Saturday will be the Early Season Finale
  • Track Attack will race from the start of the trail up to the High Country Junction
  • T2T and older will race to the Lookout on the Crystal Rim Trail
  • Finally Starts are based on theoretical finish times
  • Bonus seconds provided by percentage improvement of January results
  • Skate Technique

Learn to Compete L2C this week:

  • Classic Wednesday January 27th 2021 5-7:30 pm Sprint Variety Pack and Volume Skiing; Timing Hut YES WEDNESDAY
  • Skate Thursday January 28th 2021 5-7:30 pm Medium intensity workout; Timing Hut

Train to Train T2T this week:

  • Classic Tuesday January 26th 2021 5:50-7:30 pm Volume; Kar Hill
  • Skate Thursday January 28st 2021 5:50-7:30 pm Sprint Variety Pack workout; Kar Hill

Track Attack this week:

  • Classic Tuesday January 26th 2021 6:00-7:30 pm; Elliot Hill
  • Skate Race Saturday January 28th on Crystal Rim

Ski Waxing Fundraiser. If you are an experienced glide waxer we have another opportunity to raise some money. The members drop off their skis for glide waxing at the office. We wax them and collect the fees. Just check in at the office to see if there are any skis that need to be waxed and fill out the sheet when you complete them. Thank You Sean, who has done most of the skis so far this season.

  • Positive Covid test results are required to be shared with the athlete’s head coach immediately
  • Before Every Training Session All individuals have completed the online self-assessment tool

3rd Week of 2021

Hello Ski Fans,

What a fun week! Thanks to all who helped out at our Saturday Classic Event. Fern Creek really came alive with skill development and Fun. The results from the Time Trial are pretty interesting and available below. There are some skiers who could improve in the down hill portion of ski racing.

Next Weekend the BC Ski Team will be at Telemark racing on our trails. Fortunately, you will be able to race (shortly afterwards) and compare times with some of BC’s best skiers. This may be the biggest ski race of the year for you.

Saturday January 23rd 2021 Skate Time Trial on the 3.6km; Map Below

  • U16 Plus Boys will do 3 Laps 3×3.6 km ~ 10 km ~9:45 am Interval Race Start Time
  • U14 Boys and U14 and Older Girls will do 2 Laps 2×3.6km ~ 7 km ~9:50 am Interval Race Start Time
  • Track Attack will Race One 3.6km Lap ~ 10:10 am Interval Race Start Time
  • Remember to meet your groups and coaches at your Staging areas at 9 am

Sunday January 24th 2021 Classic Panorama Time Trial; Map Below

  • This will be the same course and start finish area as last time; home course advantage
  • The Start and Finish Area is at the top of the hill before the last lookout. There is an open area along the trail for staging the start; map below
  • U16 Plus Boys will do 2 Laps 2×5.3 km ~ 10 km ~9:45 am Interval Race Start Time
  • U14 Boys and U14 and Older Girls will do 1 Lap 5.3 km ~9:50 am Interval Race Start Time
  • Track Attack will Race the first half Lap of Panorama 10:10 am Interval Start Race
  • Remember to meet your groups and coaches at your Staging areas at 9 am

  • Skate Thursday January 21st 2021 5:50-7:30 pm Offset focus and Sprint Variety Pack workout. Pre-ski the 3.6 km course; Kar Hill

  • Skate Tuesday January 19th 2021 6:00-7:30 pm; Elliot Hill
  • Race the weekend at Telemark
