Hello everyone! Coach Jenna has asked for this information to be passed along to the Telemark community. She has a colleague who is conducting a study on the function of blood vessels. There is a description of the study below. If you are interested, please contact Kate Sansum directly.
The effect of 1 hour of sitting on blood vessel function
“We are conducting a research study to investigate what happens to blood vessel function in the leg after 60 minutes of uninterrupted sitting. We also want to find out if the response is different between males and females, and between children, adolescents and adults. The study involves 1 visit to our Pediatric Exercise Research lab on UBC-O campus (ART-183). Total time commitment is ~ (approximately) 2 hours.
If you (or anyone you know) are healthy, between the ages of 19-29 years or have a child between the ages of 8-12 years, or adolescent aged 13-15 years old and would like more information regarding the study and what is involved please contact Kate Sansum – kate.sansum@ubc.ca.
