Here is the action plan for the Tr1 / TJR group after tonights meeting.
- Parents will commit to arriving 15 earlier than the scheduled practice time.
- Practice will start within 5 minutes of the scheduled start
- There will be a new white board posted in the race room outlying where the Tr1 / TJR group will be skiing, it is a parents responsibility to ensure their child meets up with the group. We don’t want anyone to get lost out on the trails!
- The weather can be checked by looking at the Telemark webcam (on the front page of the race team website). Just below the picture there is a temperature gauge. Though it can be difficult to be 100% accurate if it looks like it is going to be hardwax conditions apply 2 layers of hardwax to your skis at home ahead of time. Once you are arrive you can apply the final 2 layers of the wax of the day. If it looks like klister conditions or warm hardwax then make sure to arrive extra early, this is where we really need parents assistance!
- The wax of the day is posted in the race room whiteboard.
- Each athlete should have their own cork. Athletes should bring with them while skiing a cork, the wax of the day and the next warmer wax.
- It is expected that each athlete (or family) will have the waxes recommended by Coach Adam in a previous post. The 4 most important hard Waxes for skiing at Telemark are RODE Violet, RODE Viola Multigrade, RODE Super Blue and RODE Extra(rot). This covers 0 to -20CThe Next ones to buy would be in this order: RODE Super Extra, RODE Blue Multigrade and RODE Viola Extra.
These are the best waxes we use and they are also the least expensive at $12 each.
Klister! Last year we needed to use more Klister than ever before at practise and races. Generally you need at least two Klisters.
- A Red Klister like RODE Rosa, Start MFW Red or Yellow…
- A Universal Klister like Start “WIDE” or Swix K22 Universal
- A Colder Klister like RODE Multigrade or Violet
- Waxes and corks make great stocking stuffers!
