Hello Ski fans! #winteriscoming.
Here are the details for the Work Party on Saturday. We would like to get as much done as we can so our trails are ready to rock when the snow comes. It should be sunny but please dress for the weather and consider bringing lunch, dry clothes and work gloves! There are some tasks that are suited for younger athletes, as well as some tasks better suited for adults!
General Tasks around Telemark
- Clear Brush on trail where Coach Adam has been working
- Firewood splitting and stacking
- Paint touch-ups on the red fencing and benches.
- Repair red fences around day lodge – dowling etc.
- Cut remaining small brush in the stadium with snippers and/or Brush saws.
- Put rental equipment back into racks/shelves – New rental room renos.
- Mount new skis (if someone with knowledge is here)
- Unpack and mark new rental boots etc.
- Wash windows in upstairs of the day lodge.
- Put up/take down bird feeders
- Pound small metal posts into parking lot – for possible signage (Adult Task)
- Clean up debris in parking lot
- Help with the BBQ
Specific Tasks at the Biathlon Range
Biathlon families! We can use some help (especially from adults) on the following tasks
- Remove 2 standing dead trees that are threatening to fall on the range (Adult Task)
- Move Acts and Prove sign to new location (Adult Task)
- Replace range entry warning sign (Adult task)
- Replace light pole and rewire (dependent on ability to secure a treated 6x6x20’ timber)
- Cut weeds in the range infield (mower)
- Clear brush around the penalty loops
- Paint some trim on the fort ( door frames)
- Paint targets (white)
- Repair some of our course signage (attach painted squares to wooden stakes)
- Pick brass in from in front of the firing line
- Drill rifle hook holes in rifle stands
- Clean rifles (if there is time)
Don’t forget to bring your classic skis and wax kit for the wax clinics, and feel free to join the AGM as well!
