Saturday and Sunday this weekend (June 7/8) are the last of our tree planting days. Morning shift starts at 09:00, afternoon shift at 13:00, or come for the whole day. Please use the sign up sheet (click here) so we know how many trees and shovels to bring.
Meet at 09:00 or 13:00 at 10 km on Brenda Mine Road. You can plant for as long as you wish, but you must meet up with our pilot vehicle at 09:00 or 13:00 in order to get guided to the site. Call Richard at 250-212-1484 if you are going to be late!
ACCESS NOTES: To get to the meeting point drive to Peachland and turn west at the third set of traffic lights to go up Princeton Avenue. Follow Princeton Ave until it turns to gravel and keep on going. The gravel starts at 0 km; stay on the main road (gravel) and keep right at about 6 km. The road turns back to pavement and keep on going until 10km – then turn right into Silver Lake Camp. We will meet here by the Large SILVER LAKE CAMP sign. We will then drive to 10.5 km and turn left. Follow the road until 12 km and we will be at the block 129. Click here for detailed map.
The tree plant will go ahead rain or shine, so come out and support Telemark Biathlon and Telemark Junior XC Racers. Parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers, best friends, etc. are encouraged to come as well! Remember to bring your own water and food. Call Richard 250-212-1484 or Barry 250-575-6163 if you have questions.
(I am told the crew last week planted 6000 trees, so they have set the bar quite high…)
