This past weekend, Telemark sent our Track-Attack Biathlon Bears to Whistler to compete in the first ever Provincial U13 championships. This event is modelled after the Track attack Championships, and focuses on fun and experience building.
The weekend involved a fun ski to the top of the ski jumps at Whistler Olympic park on Friday. Saturday included a mass start race, followed by a skills competition in the afternoon and a pizza & gelato party in the evening. On Sunday, racers were paired up for a single-mixed relay event!
For most of the bears, this was their first ever biathlon competition and our team did quite well! Telemark athletes were on the podium in the U13 boys, Novice Boys and Novice girls categories.
