Tr1 / TJR /JD Skiing Saturday

Tr1 / TJR /JD Skiing Saturday

Nickel Plate Nordic Ski Club 10am Saturday November 21st

Directions here

Nickel Plate is an amazing place to ski, but it is quite high up and it is slow going up the mountain road.  Plan travel time accordingly.

Start time 10am on skis (classic).  Please get there early to buy a trail pass and get your skis waxed (waxing should be a lot easier this week). i.e. arrive at 9:30am.  Please apply a base binder wax and two layers of blue hardwax (i.e. Swix blue extra or Rode blue multigrade) at home.  That way you will only need 2 more layers of the wax of the day applied on Saturday morning.

Tr1 / TJR skiers please bring both skate and classic gear, lunch and clothes for all conditions.  We will plan on skiing before and after lunch.

JD skiers, I believe we are short a few coaches who are away learning how to become even better coaches, so parents please volunteer to help!

PS Remember to change those roller ski tips to snow baskets, hopefully the last change!

Skiing Sunday

November 13, 2015 Posted by Ross

Sunday Skiing Sovereign 10am Classic

Where: Meet downstairs at the Sovereign lake ski club

When:  Ready to ski at 10am (means ready to ski at 10am with skis grip waxed and tested for grip and trail pass purchased (make sure to ask for the Telemark group discount)).  This means arriving at 9:30am

Carpooling:  If you want to carpool meet at 8am at Kelowna Manual Therapy Centre parking lot (1934 Ambrosi Road).  Leave by 8:15

We will plan on classic skiing, however bring skate gear, if the waxing is really difficult we will skate.

Plan on grip waxing for all conditions i.e. hardwax, klister

Plan on dressing for any condition, it is notoriously blustery up at Sovereign this time of the year so be prepared.  Use this handy checklist for packing.
