The tree planting fundraiser will be held on May 23 and 24. It is open to all members of the Biathlon and Nordic Race teams, and like in the past everyone can bring parents or siblings to help. We need parents and athletes from all programs. This is an important fundraiser for us. Heartland will provide the planting bags, shovels and trees. There will be instructions at the start for all new planters and will be a good refresher for those that planted before. The rate for planting is the same as before at $.25/tree.
We will be planting in the Silver Lake area similar to last year, only further up the road. Last year we planted at 12km, this year we will be at 15.5km. The ground is decent, but planters should still wear long pants and proper boots. Bring a lunch and water.
We ask that you sign up for a whole day, or morning, or afternoon. That way we know how many bags and trees to bring. We will marshal at 10km which is the start of Silver Lake Rd, at 830am then drive up into the planting site. Better directions will be posted if needed, closer to the date.
