Sponsors of the Telemark Junior Racing Team

Jill at Callaghan BC Cup January 2012

The Telemark Junior Racing team is all about technique, talent, fitness and fun combined together at a competitive level. This small club regularly produces athletes obtaining gold medals at the highest national level and countless western and provincial podium placements. The next seasons ahead will continue to see the development of some of Canada’s next National hopefuls, and perhaps even more important, deliver fun, fitness, good memories, and a healthy supportive team environment for our young athletes.

Our sponsors facilitate a race team development program wherein our local youth get to be coached at a National Level and participate in local, provincial and national races of extremely high caliber and see their cross-country heroes in person and in action. Our sponsors have chosen to help our Junior Race team on their journey by supporting them financially.

Friends of the Telemark Racers

We are very grateful to our 7 “Friends” sponsors who have each contributed more than $500 in grants or cash donations to the Telemark Junior Race Team for the 2012/13 season.  Their generous support makes it possible for us to offer our athletes the opportunity to train locally in a world-class X-C race program:

CCBC is the provincial sport governing body for cross country skiing in British Columbia. As such, Cross Country BC partners with other provincial/territorial sport governing bodies for cross-country skiing and together they constitute a national sport organization – CCC. Cross Country BC is a provincially incorporated, non-for-profit, club-based Association of 14,000 members. In general terms, Cross Country BC provides connectivity to the broader world of cross-country skiing and makes community-level activities more relevant and productive by applying economies of scale to create services to the membership at large. It is instrumental in providing venues and expertise that enable all participants to derive the greatest possible benefit and enjoyment from the sport and, for those so inclined, to facilitate participation in programs that provide for the continuous development of cross-country skiing from introductory experience to competitive excellence at the national level.

Cross Country BC (CCBC) sponsors and subsidizes several ski camps (dryland and on-snow) for BC skiers.  Several Telemark athletes participate in the camps, and our team receives grants in return for our head coach being head coach of the BC Development Squad.
