The Telemark Nordic Club would like to invite you to the 2021 Okanagan Candy Cane Cup and Zone 2 BC Winter Games trials.

Telemark Nordic Club is located in West Kelowna, 9 kilometers up Glenrosa Road, on paved and plowed road. Go west (up) Glenrosa Road at the Glenrosa Road interchange (at the Gorman Mill) on Highway 97 toward Crystal Mountain. The Telemark parking lot is 3 kilometers before Crystal Mountain. There is a large Telemark sign at the entrance to our parking lot. The Telemark lodge is located 100 meters from the black parking lot gate. Telemark is a 25 minute drive from downtown Kelowna and 15 minutes from downtown West Kelowna.

Notice regarding firearms
Biathlon rifles are not permitted in the main lodge. Competitors are required to transport their rifles from the parking lot to the biathlon range in a either a soft or hard case. Rifles should not be left unattended.
Rifle Import Regulations
Teams and individual competitors from outside of Canada must declare their rifles at the Canadian border, complete the necessary documentation, and pay the required fees when bringing rifles and ammunition into Canada. All athletes must register their own rifles and pay the applicable fee. Refer to the government website at http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/import/iefw-iefa-eng.html for guidelines.
Proof of Vaccination
Telemark Nordic will be following all Provincial Health orders relating to Covid-19 protocols. Current PHO Orders require all coaches, volunteers, officials and other adult participants (22 years and older) to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. A designated individual from each club must present a written confirmation that all applicable members from their club meet the vaccination requirements for this event.

Registration fee is $25 per athlete. Payment must be made using a credit card; no other method of registration will be accepted. There is no fee for coaches or parent volunteers
Registration Deadline: Thursday, December 16th, 2021 @ 23:59 PST.
All competitors must be current members of Biathlon BC or an equivalent Provincial or State Biathlon Organization. Competitors who do not have a Biathlon Canada or US Biathlon Association membership will be required to purchase a Biathlon BC Recreational Day Membership in order to compete. 2021 BC Winter Games Eligibility
Athletes who are interested qualifying for the 2021 Zone 2 (Thompson-Okanagan) BCWG team must:
- Be a resident of a community in the region of Zone 2
- Be a current member of Biathlon BC and registered as an “Athlete – Junior Boy or Junior Girl”
- Be born in 2007 or 2008

Classes of Competition
The following categories of competition will be run, depending upon entries. Classes with fewer than three registrants may be combined with another class. Ages are determined as of December 31, 2021.

BCWG categories only will compete in a SPRINT format race.

Candy Cane Cup categories will compete in a “Candy Cane Cup Short Individual Format”
- Each missed shot will result in a 20 second time penalty

Awards will be given for the top 3 in each category as well as for clean shooting.
Athletes named to the BC Winter Games will be notified within 7 days of the event.
Waxing stations can be set up outside. There is a red fence with electrical outlets next to the grooming shed next to the entrance to the parking lot.
100% Fluoro, High Fluoro (for example UHF and HF), Medium Fluoro, and similarly fluorinated glide waxes, powders, pucks, blocks, liquids and other applications are not permitted. Low Fluoro (for example LF and LF Race) and non-Fluorinated glide waxes or liquids are permitted. Non-fluorinated powders, pucks, and blocks are also not permitted. The use of hand structure on skis is permitted.
