The 2020 Canadian Ski Nationals will take place at Sovereign Lake – March 26 to April 2nd. Website Link Here. Registration is open on Zone 4 for the Individual Races, Prices go up on Feb 17th. Coaches will decide on Sprint teams closer to the event, so don’t register for that event yet.
The daily schedule below can be downloaded Here.
Categories are U16, U18, U20 and Open. I would encourage all of our younger athletes age 13 and older to take part in the racing. The Nationals are a great experience and will never be closer.
This is a multi day event, totalling 7 races days, the first two race days are especially busy as all the categories race these days. The other races days except the sprint relay day are separated by age group i.e. the younger age categories (U16/U18) race on different days than the U20 and open categories.
Every race for the U16 and U18 categories takes place on work / school days.
The event is a high fluoro wax event for all age classes. Typically spring conditions require klister.
The purpose of this post was to ensure that we will have a lot of athletes sign up to compete for Team Telemark. This will require a lot of parental help due to the large number of athletes and the numerous days of racing, (with labor intensive waxing). Parental support is critical for success due to the number of race days. Plus our amazing wax tech, Aidan, will be in the midst of University exam studying…
Please plan on volunteering to set up, clean up, help wax, transport athletes, be on the course with poles, etc.
Athletes should ensure that they have skis suitable for racing on Klister, please ask your coach if you are unsure about ski selection
